Audio Research Company (ARC) asked me to update the Reference series of tube preamplifiers. ARC has a heritage of clean, scientific aesthetics and Midwestern roots. The result is a bold presence that challenges what Hi-Fi can be while connecting back to ARC’s established DNA.
Evolving The DNA
Reference 7 elevates the form-language of past generations. Previous models lacked cohesive design between the faceplate and body. Reference 7 shrinks the faceplate and highlights part-lines in order to better integrate the design.
